Frisky Summer Events
As a sexuality educator, I get to hear about some pretty creative events! There is no need to fret if you missed this past weekend’s SwingFest near Hollywood. Read on for info on FetishCon in Florida, Babeland at The Michigan Womyn’s Fest, and a nude volleyball tournament!
FetishCon – With 8 years of celebrating whips, ropes and other painful pleasures, FetishCon is ready to dish out the demonstrations, workshops, and of course a sizable vending area. This saucy event takes place August 14-17 in Tampa, Florida, at the Hyatt Regency. If you’ve interested in trying some of the intense fetishes and racy role plays that constitute BDSM I highly suggest checking out an event such as this. Education, support, encouragement and potential partners are sure to abound! If you’re not lucky enough to be in Tampa that weekend, then head on over to your community BDSM group to learn more about fun and safe play.
Speaking of sexy shopping, Babeland will soon be just a short drive from my table at the coffee shop here. They’ll be vending at The Michigan Womyn’s Music Festival, August 5-10. This is a bio-women’s event only, while the neighboring CampTrans (August 3-10) offers a far more diverse acceptance of the word “woman.” Babeland will be doing their part to support the trans community at the MWMF by offering schedules of CampTrans events and information on transgender topics, in addition to selling sex toys, gear, and other goods. And, on the topic of sex toys, remember that recent post on Don Wands’ new LED toys? Well, it seems that wasn’t flashy enough for them. August 9th, the clothing optional resort of Northaven in Brooklyn, MI (wow, all the good stuff is happening around me!) will host the first annual Don Wands Vixen Volleyball Tournament. Co-ed teams will jiggle, bounce and flap their way to sunburns and the annual title, complete with a custom glass trophy… wonder that will look like.
